Basta “Locks”
in Listers
Basta is pleased to announce that on 6 January 2006 it purchased
Lister Locks Ltd, one of Britains leading distributors of
locks and builders hardware.
Basta
was established in Sligo in 1955 and has recently celebrated
its 50th birthday. Basta already has two manufacturing facilities,
a 105,000 sq. ft. factory in Sligo and a 35,000 sq. ft. in
Wolverhampton.
Basta manufactures a large range of hardware products for
Timber, Steel, Aluminium and PVC doors and windows. This range
includes stays, fasteners, locks, handles, bathroom fittings
and hinges.
Since
1998 Basta has completed four acquisitions - ‘Worcester
Parsons’ (formerly part of the Newman Tonks Group),
‘Lathams’ (in 2001 which brought the Conqueror
and Gibbons brands), Arthur Shaw (famous for its stays and
fasteners for timber windows) in 2002 and now Listers.
Listers
will continue to operate from their Ipswich premises providing
an enhanced product range to their customers.
The
Lister product range will further add to Basta’s already
broad product offering but it will also open up new and exciting
markets in terms of distribution and packaging. These developments
are an essential part of Basta’s strategic plan, providing
opportunities to further grow the business and expand into
new markets.
